The original site was a large residential house contained within a large garden, with similar properties located nearby, which at that time were mainly occupied by wealthy titled owners.
In 1932 the house and grounds were purchased by Sir Aston Webb & Son, and in 1933 they demolished the original house and built an impressive 8 storey block of residential flats, which included a basement and later at the rear of the block in 1934, they built a single storey staff accommodation block. (This was then one of the first large scale residential developments within Abbey Road)
In 1952 with the residents increasing need for vehicle parking, 24 single storey garages were built in the location now occupied by the Town Houses.
1988 Rosehaugh Co-partnership purchased the site and demolished all the buildings and in 1989 started to build the current 12 storey development, making fine use of Portland stone and traditional brickwork within the construction, the development was completed in 1991.
The Main Block incorporates 104 apartments, (19 – 1 Bedroom, 66 – 2 Bedroom, 18 – 3 Bedroom, and 1 – 3 bedroom Penthouse) the block also includes a residents Swimming pool and Basement vehicle parking.
At the rear of the main block consists of contractors parking bays, communal garden and 8, traditional brick build 2 bedroom Town Houses, built under slate tiled roofs, incorporating frontal vehicle parking bays and rear gardens.
